Rhetorical Modes

1. I have been aware of my destiny ever since I was a little child. I knew I was destined for greatness when I had a vision that informed me that I was to become the greatest student ever. This premonition is a symbol of things to come, and I will be ready to meet it head on.

2. It seems as if people often confuse destiny with fate. Destiny is something you achieve and strive to complete, but you can fail. Fate is a certain thing that you cannot change ever, and no matter what you do with your life you are still fated to do something.

3.Destiny can best be explained I believe in terms of super heroes. Spiderman is destined to defeat the Green Goblin, Superman is destined to destined to defeat Lex Luther, and so on. Good defeating evil is a classic way to illustrate destiny in its most pure form.

4. Destiny is often given by a premonition or sign by a higher power revealing what the person must do to complete their destiny. Whether the destiny is to defeat a great evil, or die trying in order to allow someone else to, the person receiving their destiny will complete it no matter what the circumstances.

5. Destiny is not something you can feel in terms of touch or smell, but destiny can be felt in the sense that a person may feel special or feel that they are meant for something greater. It is not a tangible sense, but it can be felt in different senses.

6. Destiny is defined by "The events that will necessarily happen to a particular person or thing in the future." I am sure everyone has always wished that some power or voice from above would give them their destiny, but that does not always happen.

1. Narration
2. Comparison
3. Example
4. Process Analysis
5. Description
6. Definition

Ceaser Salad

I really like Ceaser Salad. Its as simple as that. Salad is delicious and if you put chicken in it, BOW, its even better.Whats even weirder is that I am eating one right now while I am doing this blog post, or maybe that is why I am doing this post. The crisp lettuce, crunchy croutons, and amazing Parmesan cheese actually make my life. The only part I don't like is having to mix up the salad dressing because I can never get it evenly spread, and I eventually have huge globs of dressing on one part and no dressing on another. I guess that isn't such a big problem compared to the millions of other problems I could be having, but complaining is fun sometimes.I apologize to anyone who is reading this expecting to have some sort of intellectual or spiritual revelation like you do when you read my other posts, but if you can get something more out of a post about salads, more power to you. I am gonna go finish my salad now, but stay classy and enjoy life. Later Gators.

The Power of Print

I thoroughly enjoyed this extension section because what it is saying is truly relevant and interesting. I have noticed that especially in high school when I come off of summer break, my handwriting looks like my special cousin jimmy wrote it. Some may say my handwriting does not improve much from there, but those are simply opinions. I also liked where they make the point about how correct spelling is absolutely a necessity. Not because we couldn't eventually understand what you are trying to say if you spelled words however you liked, but so that a uniform spelling can be established so the readability is the same for every document, and so that understanding is not lost in the translation of misspelled words. That is critical to a intellectual society, and is something we implement today. However, I also enjoyed when they said that even though handwriting styles my differ, as long as the words re spelled right and legibly, that people will still understand the meaning. That is great news to people such as me who's handwriting could use some improvement to say the least.

Naturally, I am an insanely good procrastinator. Even while I am writing this post I am watching football, so I will try and use correct grammar but no promises. My process throughout writing the rhetorical analysis was fairly simple unfortunately. I just wrote a new draft everyday according to feedback and review from peers and myself. I actually enjoyed the paper a lot, because it was nice not to have a lot of other homework, along with getting to analysis text. I am lucky to have some very good critics that sit near to me, and they helped quite a bit in helping me refine and reorganize my paper. One thing that always helps me enjoy writing more is listening to classical music. I don't even really know why. For one, I think it makes me smarter, and the key word is think. If nothing else I at least feel smarter, which is almost as important. Classical music helps me relax too, which is so important to me especially when I am trying to do homework. Getting my Mozart on helps me write clearer and better. I really enjoyed this paper and I believe I got a lot out of it as well.

2 Million Dollars... (Minutes)

The argument that 2 Million Minutes puts forth is, at best an unbalanced view of the United States school system compared to others, and at worst is outright propaganda for other countries about the downfall of the United States.I totally believe that the views presented in 2 Million Minutes, such as the fact that China and India spend more time in the classroom, are not valid enough to make points that Americans are losing their competitive edge in the world. They showed none of the extracurricular's that American kids do in their free time that better themselves and their communities, and absolutely none of the activities outside school in general, besides being lazy and playing video games.Reading "I Just Wanna Be Average" did not help much to better that idea as well, although even though he gave an example of a terrible school experience here in the United States, he did end the story with a glimpse of hope that he was escaping that predestined fate by hard work and help from others. 2 Million Minutes was so biased it was hard to watch, but since it was against the United States it is considered fine to watch. I would love to see a documentary about how bad China or India's schools are compared to here, and then see all the outrage and critics of that documentary arise. I think that we do need to take a long, hard look at our educational system here, and make some serious changes, but contrary to the 2 Million Minutes belief, we are not endanger of losing our competitive edge if we take the right steps, and we are not endanger of being overrun by China and India either.

Babies, and where they come from.

This post actually has nothing to do with babies since I am not sure where they come from, I just wanted an attention grabber. In all honesty, I am going to blog about music today, which I'm sure is strange for you to hear. I absolutely love music. It helps me get through the day. It helps me when I'm not feeling good. Music is literally the best thing in the world. I love to straight up jam in my car, or anywhere honestly. If a song comes on that I like and know the words to, you will know it too. I have honestly like 29583257238904 songs and its growing exponentially. Right now even while writing this post I am having a jam sesh. Embarrassing? Possibly. Loud? Debatable.Thrilling? MOST DEFINITELY MAN. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure is on TV, so I am gonna have to go watch that now. And that, children, is where babies come from.

Obama Speech Analysis

I thought Obama's speech  was, as always, very clear and concise. He speaks in a very fluid manner and words seem to form clauses within themselves that help his whole speech to flow and be coherent. Obama emphasizes the word "you" quite a bit. I believe he does this in order to make a point that the speech is spoken directly at each individual person and definitely helps get his point across. He uses short, concise, quickly spoken sentences to add power and impact on each one of his sentences, which is definitely something Obama likes to do regularly in his public speeches. The inflection in his voice definitely wavers quite a bit as he builds suspense and comes to an almost climatic ending at the end of his speech when he encourages students all across the country to have a great school year and be the best they can be in order to help America succeed. His presence when he speaks just simply exudes confidence in every way, and he is very comfortable in front of large crowds. He is dressed appropriately which definitely makes him seem more credible as well. He chooses his vocabulary very specifically to fit the situation, which is addressing high school students, with words such as "ethics" and "invent", which definitely are positive words and help give the speech an optimistic air about it. Obama is definitely a very gifted speaker, and as analysis provides, he is a very effective one as well.
