Drifting

I love drifting. Its as simple as that. As much as I hate snow, my love of drifting overcomes it every year. I cant say I was sad to not have any snow for Christmas, it was not as cold and a lot less nasty. However, when it did snow on New Years Eve, I can also say that I was happy it was snowing because I would finally be able to drift. I drift my car around anything I can possibly do. Corners, parking lots, the friendly neighborhood culdesac, nothing is safe from me. Yesterday, I may have had one of the coolest drifts of all time. I was driving around a corner in my neighborhood and just couldn't control my urge to drift. I ripped the e-brake and turned the wheel, watching a monster wave of snow fly out from underneath my car. It was perfect. I drifted right into my lane around the corner and accelerated, watching the masterpiece unfold. I don't know if I have ever done a drift better than that, but it was in the top 2 or 3 for sure. That is really the only reason I like snow. Also, I apologize to all those drivers who have been behind me while I've drifted. Maybe you shouldn't have been tailgating my ass so hard and you wouldn't have gotten a windshield full of snow? Just something to think about.

Naps

I never thought I would be taking naps again. I am gonna be honest here, I just never saw it coming. I used to take naps all the time when I was in elementary school or younger, an hour here or two hours there, but when I got into middle school and most of high school I thought I was too old to nap. I believed that naps are for the weak-hearted and until I was going to go to bed for the night I would never sleep before then. Then senior year came. I was staying up later and waking up earlier then ever. My body literally hated me. One day, I was so tired I just laid down for a second on my couch to relax, and I wound up waking up two hours later. I felt so refreshed  so ready to take on the rest of my day. It was then that I RE-discovered the amazingness of naps. I can't go a day without taking one now. It is one thing I look forward to everyday, getting to take my nap. If your a nap hater like I used to be, just try one. One measly hour nap. It will change the way you view the world. All this writing about naps made me super tired, I think I am about to take my Sunday nap. Goodnight!

Option 2

The cashiers face flushed to bright red as the old man pummeled her with insults and insinuations, all in broken English. The man looked around 65, with crinkly skin that reminded me of someone who has stayed in the pool for too long, and messy hair that parted every which way. His yellow teeth shone in the artificial light as spit rocketed out of his mouth like a missile every time he spoke. The cashier, in turn, was a young girl of maybe 17 with bright red hair and pale skin, which only made it more obvious as she became embarrassed. From what I could understand from the man's rough voice as he yelled in broken English was that the cashier had simply forgotten to give the man a discount he deserved, and he did not take to that kindly. The man's accent was very rough and heavy, and it sounded like he was from an eastern European country, although I am no linguist by any means. As the cashier tried to spar verbally with the man and counter his accusations, I realized how this situation is one that occurs all too much in our country. The foreigner feels as if he is being treated wrongly, most likely because in his country this act would be considered rude or bigoted, and the shy worker is forced to undergo a rapid assault on their personality and lifestyle from insults by a person they do not even know. This situation makes me think of how a little communication and understanding could solve a lot of our problems in life. Sometimes we just need to take a step back, take a deep breath, calm the nerves, and try to understand each other for once instead of pulling away. Little by little, we can eliminate situations like this, and help improve society for everyone.

Rhetorical Modes

1. I have been aware of my destiny ever since I was a little child. I knew I was destined for greatness when I had a vision that informed me that I was to become the greatest student ever. This premonition is a symbol of things to come, and I will be ready to meet it head on.

2. It seems as if people often confuse destiny with fate. Destiny is something you achieve and strive to complete, but you can fail. Fate is a certain thing that you cannot change ever, and no matter what you do with your life you are still fated to do something.

3.Destiny can best be explained I believe in terms of super heroes. Spiderman is destined to defeat the Green Goblin, Superman is destined to destined to defeat Lex Luther, and so on. Good defeating evil is a classic way to illustrate destiny in its most pure form.

4. Destiny is often given by a premonition or sign by a higher power revealing what the person must do to complete their destiny. Whether the destiny is to defeat a great evil, or die trying in order to allow someone else to, the person receiving their destiny will complete it no matter what the circumstances.

5. Destiny is not something you can feel in terms of touch or smell, but destiny can be felt in the sense that a person may feel special or feel that they are meant for something greater. It is not a tangible sense, but it can be felt in different senses.

6. Destiny is defined by "The events that will necessarily happen to a particular person or thing in the future." I am sure everyone has always wished that some power or voice from above would give them their destiny, but that does not always happen.

1. Narration
2. Comparison
3. Example
4. Process Analysis
5. Description
6. Definition

Ceaser Salad

I really like Ceaser Salad. Its as simple as that. Salad is delicious and if you put chicken in it, BOW, its even better.Whats even weirder is that I am eating one right now while I am doing this blog post, or maybe that is why I am doing this post. The crisp lettuce, crunchy croutons, and amazing Parmesan cheese actually make my life. The only part I don't like is having to mix up the salad dressing because I can never get it evenly spread, and I eventually have huge globs of dressing on one part and no dressing on another. I guess that isn't such a big problem compared to the millions of other problems I could be having, but complaining is fun sometimes.I apologize to anyone who is reading this expecting to have some sort of intellectual or spiritual revelation like you do when you read my other posts, but if you can get something more out of a post about salads, more power to you. I am gonna go finish my salad now, but stay classy and enjoy life. Later Gators.

The Power of Print

I thoroughly enjoyed this extension section because what it is saying is truly relevant and interesting. I have noticed that especially in high school when I come off of summer break, my handwriting looks like my special cousin jimmy wrote it. Some may say my handwriting does not improve much from there, but those are simply opinions. I also liked where they make the point about how correct spelling is absolutely a necessity. Not because we couldn't eventually understand what you are trying to say if you spelled words however you liked, but so that a uniform spelling can be established so the readability is the same for every document, and so that understanding is not lost in the translation of misspelled words. That is critical to a intellectual society, and is something we implement today. However, I also enjoyed when they said that even though handwriting styles my differ, as long as the words re spelled right and legibly, that people will still understand the meaning. That is great news to people such as me who's handwriting could use some improvement to say the least.
